About
Thyroid Nodule RFA (Radiofrequency Ablation) refers to a minimally invasive procedure used to treat thyroid nodules, which are abnormal growths or lumps that develop within the thyroid gland. Radiofrequency ablation involves using heat generated by high-frequency electrical currents to destroy the targeted tissue. During the procedure, the patient lies on an examination table, and the area around the thyroid gland is numbed with local anesthesia. Using ultrasound guidance, a small needle-like electrode is inserted through the skin and into the thyroid nodule. The electrode emits radiofrequency waves that generate heat, causing thermal destruction of the nodule.

One of the most impressive aspects of RFA is its precision in targeting the thyroid nodule while sparing the surrounding healthy tissue. This not only enhances the effectiveness of the treatment but also minimizes the risk of complications.
