Andrew Mead: A Craftsman's Journey
Andrew Mead's journey began in 1979 when he embarked on a four-year apprenticeship as a carriage builder for the State Rail Authority. After completing his apprenticeship in 1982, he dedicated a decade to meticulously crafting historical timber carriages by hand. Many of these exquisite carriages are now proudly displayed at the Thirlmere Railway Museum, a testament to Andrew's dedication to his craft and historical preservation.
