PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana, a Central Government initiative approved on February 29, 2024, allocates Rs. 75,021 crore to provide free electricity to one crore Indian households. By installing rooftop solar power systems, eligible homes can receive up to 300 units of free electricity per month.
