Description
Joint replacement is a procedure to remove and replace a patient’s damaged joint with artificial parts made from synthetic materials. An artificial joint is named a prosthesis. The objective of joint replacement is to produce movement to the joint that is comparable to that of a real and a healthy version. Hips and knees are replaced most often. Joints in shoulders, fingers, elbows and ankles can also be replaced in the treating joint replacements.
